Mathew Mims

Matthew Mims is the brother of Col. R. C. Mims who lived in Lowndes County. Matthew Mims has been titled "Col. Matthew Mims" by himself and others, however, there is no official record of this rank or even status. Even though Col. R. C. Mims has some documentation, I do not know of his role in the Civil War. Of course, Matthew and R. C. Mims settled in this area after the war ended. I would hope there could be some resolution to these clouded histories. If you have information on Col.
