    COLUMBUS, March 21, 2006 - Funeral services for Carl Stewart Parrish, Jr., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Park in Starkville. Brother Roy McKay and Mr. Parrish's son, Andy, will officiate.

    Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Josh McKay, Matt McKay, Dee Lewis, Jay Norris, Lee Davis, Stuart Davis, Shawn Baird, and Brent Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Artis Lee Davis, Pat Jackson, Clyde H. Jackson, John P. Moore, Johnny S. Moore, Nathan Turner, Jimmy Norris, Jimmy Don Kilpatrick, Pat McCormick, Mike Dorosh, Hobby Tilley, Terry Parrish, and Mike Murphy.

    Mr. Parrish died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. He was 57. He was born May 11, 1948 in Oktibbeha County, the son of Mrs. Maurice Oswalt Parrish and the late Carl Stewart Parrish, Sr. He was married to Nannette Jackson Parrish. He was a welder, pipefitter, and operator with EKA Chemicals in Columbus for 15 years. He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

    Survivors include his wife, Nannette J. Parrish of Columbus; daughter Carla Elizabeth Parrish of Birmingham; son Michael A. "Andy" Parrish and wife Heather of Millport, Ala.; grandchildren Josiah Wesley Parrish, Elijah Michael Parrish, and Mattie Grace Parrish, all of Millport, Ala.; mother Maurice Oswalt Parrish of Starkville; and sisters Donna Sue Norris and husband Jimmy of Starkville, Marcie McKay and husband Roy of Columbus, Lisa Turner and husband Nathan of Tupelo; and Cindy Dorosh and husband Mike of Columbus.
