Bennett Rites Set Today Mathiston--Services for Amzi Bennett, longtime telegraph agent for the Columbus and Greenville Railroad at Mathiston, will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church by the Rev. E. D. Richardson. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Martin and Welch Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Bennett died suddenly at his home in Mathiston Monday morning. He was 68. A native of Alabama, Mr. Bennett had been employed by the C and G Railroad for the past 52 years, and had been telegraph agent at Mathiston for 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mabel Smith Bennett; two sons, J. A. Bennett of Alabama, Raymey Bennett of Georgia; three daughters, Mrs. John D. Blanton of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mrs. Cole C. Pennix of Charleston, W.VA. and Mrs. Hubert Keasler of Starkville.
