J. M. Bennett 10/9/1853-04/07/1910 One of the saddest deaths that have occurred here in some time was that of J. M. Bennett, who accidently fell into a well Thursday night and was instantly killed. It seems that in rising to go into the house, he became overbalanced and fell from the porch into the well and broke his neck. The funeral service was conducted Saturday morning under the auspices of the Woodmen of the World, and the interment was made at Double Springs. Mr. Bennett was a quiet, peaceable citazen and has a large circle of friends who join The Maben Press in extending sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family.
