Lee Martin Bishop Funeral services for Lee Martin Bishop of Maben were held Friday, September 7 at 3:00PM following his death at the Felix Long Memorial Hospital at 1:45 PM on Wednesday. Rev. B. D. Hardin officiated at the services which were held at Providence Church. He was assisted by Rev. Cooke. Internment was in the Church Cemetery with Welch Funeral Home of Maben in charge. Mr. Bishop, who was 68, leaves as surviviors: his wife, Mrs. Laura Lee Bishop; a son, Dwight C. Bishop, a member of the armed forces overseas; a niece, Mrs. Sherman Miller of Dallas; a brother B. D. Bishop of Birmingham, and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Bishop was a member of the Maben Baptist Church and lifelong resident of Maben. He was a veteran of World War I. Members of Oktibbeha Post No. 13 of the American Legion of Starkville and the Skelton-McGinnis-Baswell Post of Sturgis served as honorary pallbearers.
