Young Oktibbeha Matron Succumbs after Illness in Oktibbeha Hospital

Mrs. Mattie Caroline Blake, 23, died at Oktibbeha Hospital Saturday night, 
June 19, after a long illness.  She is survived by her husband, Pvt. William Blake,
Camp Wheeler, Ga., US Army; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Watkins of
Pheba, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. John J. Bland and Miss Laura Watkins of Pheba;
three brothers, Jackson and Jesse Lee Watkins of Mathiston, Miss.; and
John Watkins, Jr., of Phebe, Miss.

Funeral services were held at Center Grove Church near Maben, Miss., 
Pallbearers were U. V. Dill, Johnny J. Bland, Harold Hodnitt; Ellis Blake,
Hugh Spruill, Woodrow Jaynes.  Flower girls were her sisters, Miss Laura
Watkins, Mrs. Rosa Bland, and Mrs. Jack Watkins.

Mrs. Blake was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Meridian, Miss.
