Graveside Rites for Cowsert Set Died 02/1970 William Stone "Bill" Cowsert, a native of Starkville, died early Saturday of an apparent heart attack at his home in Macon, GA. He was 42 years old. Memorial Services were held in Macon Sunday at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Harts Mortuary. Graveside services will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in Starkville at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Welch Funeral Home in Charge. Mr. Cowsert, a 1950 graduate of Mississippi State University, was the sales director for Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Companies. He was a chartered life underwriter, an elder of North Minister Presbyterian Church of Macon, superintendent of church school, and active in numerous civic projects. He had been with Southern Farm Bureau Insurance Company and lived in Jackson until 1964 when he transferred to Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Veitch Cowsert; a daughter, Claire, and three sons, Bill, Jr., Tom and Jim; his father, William Cowsert of Starkville; three sisters, Mrs. Warren Oakley and Mrs. John White, both of Starkville, and Mrs. Sue Harper of Ukiah, Calif.
