Starkville News April 3, 1928 sent in by Mary Whitaker Davis Mrs. John H. Critz Died on Tuesday The message annoucing the death of Mrs. Una Lee Critz, who died at her home four miles west of Starkville on Tuesday afternoon, April 3, brought genuine sorrow and grief to the entire community. Mrs. Critz was first stricken with measles, later pneumonia developed and complications arose which resulted in her death. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the family residence, conducted by V. C. Curtis, pastor of the Starkville Methodist church, Dr. J. D. Ray, pastor of the Starkville Baptist Church, and Rev. Coggins of Cedar Bluff, pastor of the Adaton Methodist church, of which the deceased was a loyal and consistant member. Mr. Curtis paid a beautiful tribute to the life and character of Mrs. Critz in which he portrayed her home life as a wife and mother and her religious life as a devoute christian and church member. At the close of the services at the home the long funeral procession formed and came to the city where the body was interred in the Odd Fellows Cemetery where the services were concluded and the newly made grave covered with flowers by loving hands. The pall bearers were Bragg Alston, Geo. McIngvale, Frank Page, Shade Richey, Raymond Bell and Walter Page. Mrs. Critz, who before her marriage was Miss Una Lee Erwin, is survived by her husband and three young children, a son and two daughters, her mother, Mrs. John Erwin, three sisters, Mrs. Peter Critz, of Adaton, Mrs. Dr. Evans of Lake Providence, La., and Mrs. Smith of Arkansas.
