Starkville Daily News Friday, September 22, 1944 sent in by Mary Whitaker Davis FRANK HARRELL DIES SUDDENLY Funeral Services for Well-Known Citizen Held Monday Mr. John Frank Harrell well known resident of Starkville, died suddenly from a heart attack Saturday night at 11:30 at his home on Louisville Street. Funeral services were held Monday morning at ten o'clock at the Double Springs Church, with Dr. J. D. Ray conducting the services. The local chapter of the American Legion was in charge. Mr. Harrell was a member of the Baptist Church, the American Legion and was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pansy Butler Harrell; one son, Frank, Jr; his mother, Mrs. Maude Harrell; three brothers, J. T. Harrell, Knoxville, Tenn., D. D. Harrell, Lewisburg, Tenn., and C. A. Harrell, Dallas, Texas. Active pallbearers were Jimmie Norris, Lem Woodson, L. M. Prichard, Frank Cooper, Jake Fondren and Harry Templeton. Honororary, W.L. Templeton, D.A. Winfield, T.M. Mosley, Peter Jackson, J.D. Nash, W.C. Lindley, W.M. Scales, Hal Kirby, Dr. H.L. Scales, Dr. J.F. Eckford, J.T. Steele, and J. O. Thomas.
