Hartness Rites Today Died 1970 Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Redus Hartness will be held at 2 p.m. today from the Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Hartness, who was 92, died Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nell Richards at 301 South Montgomery after a lengthy illness. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she was born and reared in Starkville. Dr. D. C. Applegate and the Rev. Bill Nimmons will officiate, and burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery. Mrs. Hartness is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Florence Utrata of Tallahassee, Fla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Faye Fultz of Starkville, and Mrs. Juanita Peacock of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Burdette of New Orleans, and three grandsons, Bill Richards of Mathiston, Jim Richards of Miami, and Gustavo Reno, Jr., of Ecuador.
