Demise of J O Henry On July 6, 1943 at 2 O'clock the eath angels visited the home of J O Henry and carried his soul back to the God that gave it. He had suffered much pain in the 4 1/2 months that he lay helpless on his bed since his stroke, February 19. He was 72 years of age , a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, the last place he was privileged to go was to church at Fellowship. His pew will be vacant now and he will be missed there, for he came often to the home of the Lord to worship.\ He was a useful man in the community and had many friends in Choctaw County. He loved his family and provided well. He and his good wife reaqred a large family and did a good part by them. He was always willing to go his limit for their needs. He will be greatly missed in his earthly home, but he is now enjoying that heavenly home the Lord had provided for him. Everything was done that loving hands could do, but the Lord called and he had to go. He was a kind husband and loving father, and leaves to mourn his passing a wife, Mrs. Maude Henry, four boys, Chove, Hearon, Marvin, and X O Henry, all of Mathiston; and five girls, Mrs. J D. Dobbs, Mrs. E J. Breland, Mrs. Upton Crawford, Mrs. Carlten Smith, of Mathiston, and Mrs. Odie B Stricklin of Starkville: a brother, Mrs. Jim Henry of Moshein, Texas; a sister Mrs. Ed Narmour of Starkville, a number of grandchildren and a host of friends. Three infants preceded him in his death. He was laid to rest in the Fellowship Cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J W Kitchens conducted the funeral service. Pallbearers were the sons in law, J. D Dobbs, E J Breland, Upton Crawford, Carlton Smith, and Odie B. Stricklin. The funeral was in charge of Adams and Weaver.
