Lampkin Rites Today Funeral services for Robert Hinkle Lampkin, prominent Starkville citizen, will be held today at 2 p.m. from the Welch Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Biddle officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mr. Lampkin died Sunday night at Felix Long Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack. He was 69. Mr. Lampkin was a member of Oktibbeha County's most distinguished prioeer families and lived in Starkville all his life. An alumnus of Mississippi State University, Mr. Lampkin was a retired professor of Economics in the Department of Business Administration at MSU and served as an indstructor in the Department of Busines Education there. Mr. Lampkin was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi National Business Fraternity while teaching at the university. A merchant in Starkville for 20 years, Mr. Lampkin was active in civic affairs, serving on the local school board and the city's Board of Aldermen. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the church's official board. Mr. Lampkin was a member of Abert Masonic Lodge, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and a former member of the Starkville Rotary Club. Mr. Lampkin leaves his wife, Mrs. Louise Ray Lampkin, a son, Robert Evans Lampkin of Jackso; a daughter, Mrs. Guy Jackson, Jr., of Vicksburg; a sister, Mrs. A. B. Butts of Washington, D.C.; and six grandchildren. Donated by Michael Lampkin.
