Died June 01, 1975 John F. McIlwain John F. McIlwain, 86, of Artesia died Sunday morning in a local hospital. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. from the Artesia United Methodist Church with the Rev. T. E. Shelton officiating, assisted by the Rev. K. Z. Stevens. Interment will be in the K. P. Cemetery in Artesia with Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A lifelong resident of Artesia, Mr. McIlwain was a member of the Artesia Methodist Church where he was a Steward and he was a member of the Knights of Pythias. He owned and operated J. F. McIlwain General Merchandise Store in Artesia for 54 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lida Mathews McIlwain of Artesia; three daughters, Mrs. Eagle Matulich of Columbia, Ms, Mrs. Donald McWilliams of Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Wilson Cox of Artesia; three brothers, M. D. McIlwain of Vernon, Ala., O. G. McIlwain of Artesia and Walter McIlwain of Starkville; nine grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Emmett McIlwain, Fripp Boozer, Jr., D. W. McIlwain, Woodrow Cox, Vernon Harris and J. S. McIlwain. Honorary pallbearers will be T. N. Jones, Robert Pritchard, Darrell Pritchard, Paul Guerry, Scott Adams, Robert Lummus, D.A. Langford, Henry Pilkinton, V. L. Shook, R. L. Pritchard, W.W. Guerry, G. W. Gentry, W. H. Cook, E. B.
