5-25-1956 J. W. Munday Services for J. W. Munday of Osborn, retired merchant and farmer, were held at 10 Tuesday morning at Osborn Presbyterian Church. Dr. Fred W. Neal of Mississippi State College, and the Rev. D. C. Applegate, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Barry Funeral Home was in charge of burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville. Mr. Munday, who was 87, died Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wick Malone in Osborn. He had been ill for 19 months. He was born in Sabisca, KY but had lived in the Osborn community for 39 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Memphis. He also leaves his wife, the former Miss Mattie Ruble of Buena Vista, Ky; a son, W. F. Munday of Memphis; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren and a nephew, Rev. W. I. Munday of Bowling Green, KY. Pallbearers were: Sam Love, Herman Echols, Ted Bryan, Joe Bryan, J. W. Mitchener and Tom Boyd.
