12-7-1928 - Starkville News Mr. Will Myers Dies at Longview Mr. Will Myers passed away at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. Will Lewis, at Longview, on Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, 1928 at nine o'clock. A few weeks ago he was injured internally by being kicked by a mule. He came to the Oktibbeha Hospital where an operation was performed. After he returned to Longview complications set in which resulted in his death. For many years Mr. Myers was a resident of Longview, but a short time before his death had moved to Pheba, Clay county, where he made his home. The funeral and burial services took place at New Hope Church on Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Robert Pearson, former pastor of Longview church but now stationed at Macon. The deceased was buried with Masonic honors, the ceremonies being participated in by the members of Big Creek Lodge No. 204. A widow and five children survive him--three boys and two girls, also an uncle, Mr. E. A. Buckner of Longview, and a sister, Mrs. George McCreight of the Smyrna neighborhood.
