Death Claims Fine Oktibbeha Citizen First of Six Brothers Passed Away at Home Near Maben; Burial Made at Providence Maben - S. (Major) O'Brian, 75, passed way at his residence about a mile east of this town on August 6, 1937, after having been ill health for two years. He was born in Oktibbeha County 4 miles south of Maben on May 16, 1862. In November, 1886, he was married to Miss Martha Burchfield. From this union of families, there came a number of fine children who have lived lives of this kind of which any parents might be proud. The deceased was the first of six O'Brian brothers to be claimed by death. He was a very successful farmer, as he was successful in every other undertaking of his long and fruitful life. He was loyal to his friends and was a kind, devoted and sacrificing father, husband and brother. He was a member of the Double Springs Masonic Lodge No. 251, and of the Maben chapter of the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha O'Brian; four daughters, Misses Ola and Clemmie O'Brian, Maben'; Mrs. Charlie Norwood and Mrs. Therman Johnson, Maben; four sons, J. C., Keed, Ogle and Charlie, Maben; a sister Miss Mary O'Brian, Maben; and five brothers, C. F., J. M., G. M., B. F., D. C., all of Maben; and five grandchildren. Funeral services, attended by hundreds of friends of the deceased and the family, were held at Providence Church at 11 a.m., August 7th, with the Rev. E. L. Jernigan and the Rev. C. W. Kitchens, in charge. Burial under the direction of Southern Undertakers, was made in the Providence cemetery. Pallbearers were: W. C. Sanders, E. H. Sanders, A. N. Butts, W. M. Shuffield, C. J.
