Alpha M. Carey Peters  

Alpha M. Carey Peters, 96, passed away on Sept. 20, 2007, at her 
home in Starkville. Mrs. Peters was the retired owner of Peters 
Packing Company, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and 
a member of the American Business Women’s Association and
 the Starkville Newcomers Club. She lived life to the fullest.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. 
at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father John Bohn will conduct the 
mass.  There will be a visitation after the mass from 2 to 3 p.m. at 
Welch Funeral Home. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, 
Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, Ill. 

Mrs. Peters is preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. 
Peters and a son, Norman H. Peters.

Survivors include her daughter, Marimarlene Clay and husband 
William of College Station, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sally Peters 
of Pittsford, N.Y.; grandchildren, Russell Peters of Pittsford, N.Y., 
Kimberly Bennett and husband Brian of Starkville, and Kelly Atwood
 of Dallas, Texas; and great grandchildren, Bates, Brody and Briggs 
Bennett of Starkville.
