			Simpson Rites Today

John Thomas Simpson died suddenly at his home at 619 Greensboro Tuesday 
afternoon.  He was 82.

Services will be held in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home at 10 am Thursday, 
with Dr. D. C. Applegate and the Rev. Bill Nimmons officating.  Burial will be in 
Odd Fellows Cemetery.

A lifelong resident of Oktibbeha County and Starkville, Mr. Simson was a law 
enforcement officer for the city of Starkville and the county.  He was retired 
from A & M Dairy.

He was a member of the first Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, John Thomas Simpson Jr. of Gainesville, GA; a daughter, 
Mrs. I. E. Hamlin of Starkville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Willis F. Moore of Starkville, 
and a great-granddaughter, Miss Cathy Moore of Starkville.
