Starkville News June 26 1936 Mrs. Simpson, 84, is Buried Monday Starkville Lady Dies at Daughters Home, is Old Resident Funeral Services for Mrs. J. A. Simpson, 84, respected Starkville lady and member of a prominent Oktibbeha family were held Monday from the Pleasant Ridge Church near Longview by Dr. J. D. Ray, pastor of the Starkville Baptist Church. Interment was in the cemetery there. Mrs. Simpson died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. R. Phillips. She had been a prominent member of the Baptist Church since childhood. Mrs. Simpson was born in South Carolina moving from there with her parents when a little girl to Macon. She had been a resident of Oktibbeha County about fifty years. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. L. R. Phillips, Starkville; three sons, J. T. Simpson and J. L. Simpson, of Starkville, and B. F.
