Starkville News January 2 1948 Services Held for James O. Templeton James Ollie Templeton, Oktibbeha farmer, and local businessman died during the Christmas holidays and funeral services were held from the residence December 30, with Dr. J. D. Ray in Charge, assisted by Reverend Wilburn Smith. Burial was in the Chestnut Log Cemetery, with the Martin Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. He was 77. A lifelong resident of Oktibbeha County, he was born November 9, 1870. Mr. Templeton was a former deacon of the Self Creek Baptist Church. At the time of his death, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Starkville. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Candis Templeton, and four daughters, Mr. J. R. King, of Doddsville, Mrs. S. L. Hagan of Rome, Mrs. Elna Ricks of Starkville, and Mrs. Frank Lemmons of Starkville; and three sons, Raymond S. Templeton, Ollie A. Templeton and Willie L. Templeton, all of Starkville. Grandsons of Mr. Templeton were active pallbearers and his granddaughters were on the flower committee.
