Mrs. Wright's Death A Sad Event At Maben Victim of Influenza Was Buried At Spring Valley Cemetery, Thursday Last Week Maben: A victim of influenza, Mrs. Bertha Leona Wright passed away at her Maben residence Wednesday of last week after a short illness. Funeral services were held at Spring Valley Cemetery at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Mr. Smith of Ackermann conducting in the presence of a large number of sorrowing friends and relatives. Burial followed in Spring Valley Cemetery with the Southern Undertaking Association in charge. Mrs. Wright's death was a cause of unusual sadness in the community for she was a splendid character and was loved for her many fine qualities. She was a devout member of the Maben Baptist Church. She leaves a husband, D. W. Wright, a prominent Maben citizen, two daughters, Mary Ludene, 12 and Mary Cathelene 8, one son Willard 5, four sisters, Mrs. Bill Bishop of Gunnison, Mrs. Clyde Whitaker of Gunnison, Mrs. May Atkins of Eupora, Mrs. Lela Harrison of Birmingham. Ala. two brothers, W. S. Wooten of Maben, J. A. Wooten, Mathiston, an Uncle David Wooten of Starkville, and three Aunts; Mrs. Dan Harpole of Maben, Mrs. Dora Long of Atlanta, GA and Mrs. Peola Wooten of Sturgis.
